Saks Fifth Avenue in Cincinnati, OH is looking for a Talent Development Director. 5+ years of related HR experience required.
In collaboration with the Regional Talent Development Director and the General Manager, the Talent Development Director will co-create and execute the people strategy to include organizational design, competency coaching, career development, internal movement, retention strategies, talent acquisition strategies and succession planning for the Store population. The Talent Development Director is responsible for ensuring that the management team fosters a working environment that encourages collaboration and teamwork, recognizes exceptional performance and inspires associates to do their best work. The Talent Development Director is a strategic HR partner to the General Manager in building and developing the selling organization and implementing key company initiatives.Through strategic HR leadership, he/she is responsible for increasing sales, improving service and driving results at the local level. The Talent Development Director will be responsible for the following:
•Driving Talent Management strategies throughout the Store in partnership with Store Leadership and Department Managers
•Facilitate the performance management and talent review processes
•Coaching Store Leadership and Department Managers to enable the Managers to drive results through his / her respective teams
•Facilitating training, to include on-boarding, orientation and the delivery of corporate training initiatives
•Partnering with the Employee Relations Service Center to identify and resolve Store issues
•Partnering with the Centralized Recruiting team to provide requests, assess talent and facilitate the selection process
•Collaborates with the Regional Talent Development Director and General Manager on the co-creation and execution of the Store people strategy to include, organizational design, workforce planning, developmental areas, internal movement opportunities, career pathing, succession planning as well as talent acquisition and retention strategies. This strategy must align to the overall store local business development plan.
•Coaching and development of the Store Leadership Team and the Management population, with a focus on development opportunities, leading an effective sales force, driving high Selling and Service standards and personal development plans.
•Provide change management expertise and coaching to Store leaders to enable successful deployment of initiatives. In partnership with L&D, deploys processes to assess training and store wide development needs and ensure implementation of initiatives to close identified gaps
•In partnership with the General Manager, conducts talent assessment for Management population to identify high potentials and provide developmental opportunities for career growth.
•In collaboration with Store Leadership, creates a workforce plan that supports the Talent Management strategy by anticipating future talent needs. The workforce plan may include recruitment forecasts, succession planning, and retention planning for key positions.
•In collaboration with the Centralized Recruiting team, maintains a pipeline of qualified candidates for openings, and works to effectively minimize the time required to fill open positions.
•Assesses talent as part of the interview process to determine the best candidate for the position.
•Oversees the Objective Setting and Performance Appraisal Processes
•Provides counsel and guidance to Management team on delivering performance feedback and development plans.
•Partners with the Employee Relations Service Center to identify and resolve Store Associate relation issues
•Acts as a 'change agent' for the store to effectively support cultural transitions in support of strategic initiatives
•Facilitates a working environment that consistently embodies Saks values, providing recognition & rewards for strong performers.
•4 year degree preferred.
•Training Experience is a plus.
•The ability to build effective and motivated teams, sound business judgment, and understanding of employment law are required.
•Proven abilities in the areas of organization and talent development.
•Strong facilitation skills.
•5+ years of related HR experience is required in retailing or other fast paced service and selling environments, in positions of increasing responsibility and volume.
•Strong experience with executive coaching and development.
•People management experience.
