Description The Exploration Organization primary responsibilities are finding and delineating new oil and gas fields, and characterizing the company's large portfolio of oil and gas fields and reservoirs for field development. The Organization has six departments: Area Exploration (oil and gas exploration), Reservoir Characterization (reservoir geology and geophysics, geosteering, modeling, and groundwater), Resource Assessment (pore volume and resource assessment), Exploration Operations (geophysical acquisition and processing, and cartographic support), Exploration Technical Services (geological, geophysical, and data management), and Upstream Ventures.

An experienced Petroleum Engineering Specialist to join the Exploration Organization/Upstream Ventures Department in Saudi Arabia.
The position requires solid technical expertise in addition to broad oil and gas business exposure and sound commercial judgment to address
complex business issues. In addition to the technical and business ability, the candidate must have expertise in petroleum economics and
world fiscal systems.
The Petroleum Engineering Specialist must have proven ability to communicate with management and working associates, convert technical
expertise into practical recommendations and evaluate the commercial viability of various investments. In addition, he is required to support
Saudi Aramco special projects or act as shareholder representative in various workshops and joint projects.
Primary purpose of this job is to provide expert advice in the following multi-faceted activities:
#Reservoir engineering
#Drilling activities
#Evaluating field development scenarios with associated economics
#Develop and maintain economic models to represent the Upstream Joint Venture Agreements
#nvolvement in special projects requested by the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources (MinPet)
#Preparing business plan, operating plan, mid-year and year-end accountability reports, weekly and monthly reports and management briefs.
Updating operational budget to timely assess Aramco#s funding requirement, evaluating Upstream Joint ventures# (UJVs#) proposals in
accordance with the Upstream Project Agreement and Shareholders Agreement and risk analysis.
#Provide technical and commercial support to the Sr. Joint Venture Representatives
#Required to serve as Sr. Joint Venture Representative when required.
#Additional responsibilities include preparing and/or QC various management reports and management presentations.
#The job requires extensive technical and commercial experience and sound business acumen.
#In addition, handles projects on behalf of Aramco and represents Aramco as shareholder representative.
Requirements BS degree in Petroleum Engineering # MS degree in Petroleum Engineering desirable and MS degree in Business Administration or
Petroleum Economics. A minimum of ten (10) years of extensive experience in the petroleum industry in technical and commercial areas, out
of which at least five (5) years working with upstream joint ventures or hands-on experience with designing and evaluating fiscal models.

Responsibilities A. Provides expert advice and assistance on operating problems relating to his area of expertise.
B. Specifies design criteria and relevant operating parameters for development of BI's and/or new projects within his area of expertise.
C. Participates in project technical reviews and reviews proposals for new or changed operating procedures on his area of expertise to
ensure efficient and economic operations.
D. Conducts economic studies on cost analysis as appropriate to resolve alternative causes of action relative to his area of expertise.
E. Acts as Task Force Leader as assigned to solve special problems in his area of expertise.
F. Originates ideas for improvements, develops a basis for required field testing and Management review, analyses results and recommends
new or changed procedures and/or facilities.
G. Recommends, designs and oversees suitable outside investigations to resolve problems which exceed current engineering knowledge in
his specialty.
H. Represents Aramco in technical contacts with Shareholders and SAG representatives dealing with company procedures or proposed
operations relative to his area of expertise.
I. Makes presentations to Executive Management, to Shareholder Program Review, or to various Shareholder Technical Meetings, as
appropriate.
J. Represents Aramco in dealings with manufacturers, vendors, outside consultants, etc. within his area of expertise.
K. Conducts seminars, prepares manuals, and trains and develops Aramco engineers and operating personnel in his area of expertise.
L. Participates in technical societies and technical groups in his area of expertise; represents Aramco on industry committees or specialized
groups as appropriate.
M. Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Unit Supervisor or Division Head to which he reports.
