DescriptionDescription Saudi Aramco is seeking an experienced Oil and Gas Specialist to work as a key advisor to the Business Analysis Department within our Corporate Planning Organization.
The core function of the Corporate Planning organization is to advise the company's management and guide other departments within the company on energy markets and outlooks, economic evaluations, oil pricing, macroeconomic outlook, and international energy policies and regulations, besides assisting in business planning and strategy formulation. Corporate Planning serves as the center of expertise on the application of economic principles and assumptions to business issues throughout the company. Corporate Planning is looking to appoint an Oil and Gas Specialist for analyzing the global market with relative competencies, including: An acute appreciation of drivers, such as findings, development and cash costs, energy prices, technological advances, geological and geographical factors, decline rates, energy and environmental policies and regulations, fiscal regimes, contractual structures, project economics and the ability to quantify the impact on supply and demand. The Specialist must be an expert in locating, gathering, organizing, maintaining and analyzing global energy data from multiple sources, with a focus on key regions. Must have the ability to understand and apply statistical analysis and modeling techniques. Understands and communicates the implications of the developments and outlooks on the company's main operations. The Specialist must demonstrate the ability to work with multidisciplinary teams producing reports, studies and presentations that support management's decisions. All of these trends would be used to inform management and for inclusion in various planning purposes. Requirements As the successful candidate, you will hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Petroleum Economics or related specialty. MBA or Master's degree in Energy Economics is desirable. You should have at least 10-15 years of experience the business and commercial side of the oil and gas industry. Five or more years of experience advising upper management of a large oil and gas company combined with at least 10 years of industry experience. Responsibilities You will be required to perform and demonstrate the following: • Develop and coordinate the development of position papers and detailed briefs on issues that come before executive management on a periodic basis. • Track and anticipate upcoming issues that are under development by various company business lines that are expected to come to executive management for decision and guidance. • Help ensure and coordinate Corporate Planning's engagement during the development of these issues. • Support Corporate Planning management in selecting major upcoming world energy issues to focus on and produce proposed Corporate Planning positions on such issues in order to guide future formulation of corporate positions and policy recommendations. • Provide analysis, evaluation and interpretation of company studies and reports, even at early stages of development, in support of projects and programs related to Saudi Aramco's capital investment, and other decisions. • Maintain and expand contacts within the industry both in the Kingdom and internationally in order to have ready access to up-to-date information about a wide range of oil and gas issues. • Provide expert judgment, by way of thorough analysis, to address questions from management on oil and gas business issues. • Interact regularly with other professionals in various company business lines involved in capital planning, economic analysis and strategy development. • Assist in the training, development and mentoring of younger staff.
