DescriptionDescription Saudi Aramco is seeking a Reservoir Engineering Technologist to join the Reservoir Engineering Technology Team of EXPEC Advanced Research Center.
The EXPEC Advanced Research Center is responsible for providing an unrivalled environment for creativity and innovation in the upstream sector by creating new opportunities to find, develop, and produce hydrocarbon resources, developing cost-effective solutions to meet Saudi Aramco's unique upstream technological needs. The Reservoir Engineering Technology Team's primary role is to initiate and execute research projects in Smart Water Flood with focus on the effect of water properties on oil recovery. This includes developing research plans for water analysis developing methods and test specifications for the state-of the-art instruments, analyzing and reporting test data, interpreting the impact of water properties on rock and oil properties. Conduct and lead detailed on content related research studies in a team environment. Provide consultancies for the research studies related to rock properties and oil behaviors on exposure to various types of waters. Train junior scientists and engineers. Form and lead multi-disciplinary technical teams based on business need. Requirements As the successful candidate you will hold a Degree in Analytical Chemistry or a related science from a recognized and approved program. PhD degree is preferred. Twelve to fifteen years of experience in the oil and gas or chemical industries with Hands-on research experience in water analysis using the state-of-the-art instruments. Knowledge in using HPLC, UV-Vis Spectrometer, IC, and ICP. Minimum 3 years experience related to development of water analysis methods. You will have achieved recognition in your field through publication in significant technical journals and a history of active participation in technical society activities. Good spoken and written English is a requirement. Responsibilities You will be required to perform the following: Provide expert advice and assistance on operating problems. Specify design criteria and relevant operating parameters for development of the Business line or new projects within your area of expertise. Participate in project technical reviews and proposals for new or changed operating procedures on your area of expertise to ensure efficient and economic operations. Conduct economic studies on cost analysis as appropriate to resolve alternative causes of action relative to your area of expertise. Act as Task Force Leader as assigned to solve special problems in your area of expertise. Recommend, design and oversee suitable outside investigations to resolve problems which exceed current engineering knowledge. Represent Saudi Aramco in technical contacts with Shareholders dealing with company procedures or proposed operations. Make presentations to Executive Management, to Shareholder Program Review or to various Shareholder Technical Meetings, as appropriate. Represent Saudi Aramco in dealings with manufacturers, vendors, outside consultants, etc. within your area of expertise. Conduct seminars, prepares manuals and trains and develops Saudi Aramco engineers and operating personnel. Participate in technical societies and technical groups; represents Saudi Aramco on industry committees or specialized groups as appropriate.
