Position Overview The SCA Global Hygiene Supply (GHS) business is currently searching foran AFH Supply TissueManufacturing Excellence Manager - North America. The AFH Supply Tissue Manufacturing Excellence Manager - North America will support the Manufacturing Excellence (MEx) function in its´ objectives, and will drive and monitor the implementation of the Manufacturing Excellence strategy and enablers, driven by the several MEx programs, within the Business Unit. S/he drives knowledge sharing and ensures consistency of implementation across plants in the BU, e.g. DDS. S/he supports the definition of sites´ action plans for continuous improvement activities based on locally/jointly identified gaps.

THIS POSITION CAN BE LOCATED ANYWHERE IN NORTH AMERICA. THIS POSITION REQUIRES 75% TRAVEL, SO MUST BE LOCATED NEAR ANY MAJOR AIRPORT HUB IN NORTH AMERICA.

Main responsibilities of this position include:
  • Actively drives and follows-up the consistent implementation of Manufacturing excellence programs and enablers across the sites within the BU
  • Actively coach local Sites within the BU in the implementation of the Manufacturing Excellence standards, programs and enablers, within BU's.
  • Drive continuous improvement of best practices across BU's through active target setting and follow up processes with manufacturing site management.
  • Develops and assures the right expert knowledge transfer to the sites to ensure successful implementation of enablers and sustainability of results.
  • Ensures cross site best practice sharing, as well as internal and external benchmarking.
  • Closely monitors and follows up results and progress in the sites, and influences site management teams to define the required action plans, set the right priorities and take the right decisions depending on business needs.

Minimum Qualifications
  • University Degree required, Engineering Degree is strongly preferred
  • Minimum Five (5) years working experience in manufacturing
  • Broad practical management experience required
  • Significant International experience
  • Language: Superior English verbal and writing skills. Other language skills are beneficial, including Spanish or Portuguese
  • Strong knowledge of technical and business practices and tools related to Manufacturing Excellence, Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement tools.
  • In depth knowledge of industry; understanding of total value chain; profound practical experience in applying continuous improvement processes and corresponding metrics to organizations
  • Proven Ability to influence and motivate staff, managers and employees
  • Practical experiences driving world class CIP principles developing manufacturing policies, processes and practices, creating key performance metrics and following up target achievements.
  • Proven effective Communication skills: Skilled communicator with excellent influencing skills; External or internal relations with Business Unit Directors, BU Supply management team, MEx directors and Site Management teams.
  • TRAVEL: Ability to travel domestic and international locations (75%).
