Position Overview The SCA Americas Supply Chain business is currently searching for students for our Neenah Converting Co-Op opportunity; this position will be located at our manufacturing site in Neenah, Wisconsin. The Converting Co-Op will be responsible for providing quality control support of production at Neenah Converting to ensure finished products meet all customer requirements. This individual will investigate continuous improvement opportunities and assist the Process Leaders in optimizing and controlling the operations of the Cells/departments. S/He will proactively seek opportunities to increase effectiveness and efficiency of all processes, equipment, procedures, and quality tasks within the cells/department. This role will collaborate with Process Leaders, Continuous Improvement Engineers and Resource Support Team (RST) to identify and pursue improvement initiatives and overall team effectiveness in support of converting.

Converting Quality Co-op -Industrial/Quality Engineering:
  • Summer (May 2013 – December 2013) 1 position available
Main accountabilities and responsibilities:
  • Uphold SCA's core values in every day actions: Respect, Excellence, and Responsibility
  • Monitor quality specifications for finished product production at Neenah Converting.
  • Monitor hold process and COPES process to assure investigations are completed by production in a timely manner.
  • Work with operation employees to solve problems which occur and effect product quality
  • Attend meetings as required.
  • Perform product and physical property testing as necessary to supply data to Production, Quality Specialists and Corporate Quality.
  • Assist with quality complaints and follow-up when directed by Quality Specialist.
  • Issue reports detailing quality issues, and physical product testing.
  • Assist with conducting Quality Audits when necessary.
  • Become familiar with sanitation standards.
  • Assist with implementation of the standards.
  • Assist with or direct special projects under the direction of the Quality Specialists.
  • Assist Continuous Improvement Engineers with product or process improvement projects in support of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Manufacturing Excellence processes.
  • Perform other essential responsibilities as deemed necessary.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be currently Enrolled in a 4-year college degree program in Quality Systems, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
  • Prior experience working in a lab environment
  • Mathematical aptitude and computer skills required.
  • Ability to communicate well, both orally and in writing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement and lean/six sigma tools, DMAIC process, and statistical analysis
  • General understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control processes
  • Must have demonstrated ability to direct tasks and assign contributory roles in project teams
  • Lean/Six Sigma problem solving tools' education preferred
  • Responsible for all Assets within general plant location, occasional support of assets beyond the site location.
  • Strong Listening skills, group and individual communications skills, ability to communicate at all levels of the organization
  • TRAVEL: Ability to travel up to 5% of time to domestic or international locations.
