• Uses deliberate, structured, and systemic thought process to develop merchandising rule sets to generate high volumes of quality merchandising plans that consistently meet various business requirements • Executes quality control measures for merchandise plans ensuring accuracy of store assignments, compliance with strategic vision and/or corporate standards; emphasis on accuracy, attention to detail, and an inquisitive mindset • Assigns and validates planogram/store assignments for assigned business areas to ensure accurate store/item authorizations which drive inventory authorizations • Participates in special store projects, new store reviews, expansions, and Departmental Resets as applicable to the assigned business area; responsible for communicating and collaborating with Space Planning Analysts to assure project deliverables are met in accordance with the timeline. • Provides deep analytical analysis using, but not limited to, Nielsen POS, NPD and Spectra data, looking for opportunities to develop a customer centric approach to the merchandise plans; consistently performs complex and highly detailed work with accuracy and precision • Takes an active role in learning and utilizing all appropriate tools and levers to maximize space productivity, minimize unproductive inventories and ensure that financial targets are met; actively strives to identify opportunities and make recommendations to optimize space productivity • Consistently maintains Merchandise Planning Criteria including in depth competitive reviews for assigned business areas with consideration for Key Performance Indicators, layout, space allocation, and customer experience • Actively participates in continual process improvement, evaluates planogram/merchandise plan effectiveness and makes recommendations to maximize workflow efficiencies; has passion for finding those causal factors that can constrain performance and profits; challenges the status quo and strives to deliver process improvements • Responsible for store support in regards to merchandising plans; acts with a strong sense of urgency to anticipate customer’s needs; takes responsibility to finding lasting solutions to difficult problems • Builds and maintains collaborative partnerships with Store Planning, Merchant, Inventory and Store Operations teams; expected to gain credibility and earn trust of key executives across the organization and store leadership teams; works cross-functionally to gain alignment on merchandise plans in accordance to strategic objectives while achieving the highest possible profitability of SHC real estate • Bachelors degree in a quantitative discipline: Economics, IT, Supply Chain, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science • Desire to create and influence change via behavior and enthusiasm in his/her work – active participant in implementation of processes and driving mindset changes to improve productivity and/or profitability • Microsoft Office with Advanced Excel Skills - experience with writing complex formulas or analytical models • Exceptional Analytical Skills & diligent about taking action based on findings – must possess analytical and financial literacy aimed at ensuring that our business intentions generate sustainable returns on investment for the Sears investor • Strong Presentation, Verbal and Written Communication Skills - must excel at communicating complex information in simple to understand yet actionable ways (words/numbers/pictures); must be proficient at communicating across all levels across the organization (including senior management) • Strong attention to detail and sound problem solving skills - enjoy gathering and digging deeply into data to identify opportunities and solve problems; ability to quickly come up with creative solutions to both technical and business process issues; not satisfied until a solution is found • Conflict Resolution --ability to mediate differences of opinion and facilitate conflict resolution; must be comfortable in utilizing/presenting data to minimize opinion based decisions • Technically minded – should be comfortable with the structured logical thinking required to write formulas to be effective with planogram generation • Strong systems thinker - ability to quickly understand the potential implications that a specific change could have on an overall business process • Focused on Self Development - actively pursues all opportunities to strengthen technical skill set and develop competencies; displays a strong desire learn about the business, system capabilities and processes from as many sources as possible (internal, external). This requires a willingness and interest in interacting with others from across the organization as needed.
