The Pricing Analyst is responsible for supporting the development and execution of overall pricing strategies for the Automotive business unit. This role will be critical in the development of overall SHC pricing philosophies, principles, guidelines, and methodologies as well as the use of competitive benchmarking to drive improved retail sales, margin and customer price perception. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES • Collaborates with Pricing Team, Customer Analytics, Merchandising and Store Operations teams to develop insights based on pricing data o Coordinates with Leaders to identify and prioritize areas for analysis o Gathers data and performs complex analysis manipulating large data sets to create thoughtful, robust business analyses o Analyzes issues, develops insights and formulates data based hypotheses • Develops partnerships across the business and functional areas of the organization • Prepares pricing related recommendations, financial business cases and presentations for senior management • Fosters teamwork and works well in a collaborative team environment • Leads small groups of individuals in support of specific pricing initiatives • Performs ad hoc analysis as requested KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Education/Training • Bachelors degree from four year college or university Experience • 1-3years professional experience in: pricing, management consulting, CRM (non-technical fields), business strategy, merchandising or marketing preferred Role specific abilities/skills • Highly skilled in problem solving especially in situations of high ambiguity • Ability to apply analytical rigor to understand complex business scenarios • Active curiosity—Must enjoy gathering and digging deeply into data to identify issues and solve problems • Strong work ethic complemented by a positive, can-do attitude • Excellent communication skills: Listening, verbal and written • Some familiarity with standard customer insights techniques such as: qualitative and quantitative market research, marketing analytics, statistical and economic modeling, customer segmentation, and customer profitability analysis • Superior Access and Excel skills, basic Powerpoint skills, as well as familiarity with other database standards and protocols.
