DescriptionGENERAL SUMMARY: The Field Trainer is responsible for interacting closely with the Curriculum Development team, Training Managers, and Field Leadership teams. This position provides automotive sales and service knowledge, as well as training to Service and Sales associates, and continually develops associates' knowledge and skills, ultimately providing the customer with speed and expertise in service.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY: Responsible for working closely with District Automotive Managers across four to seven (4-7) districts. Responsible for serving as a field trainer to approximately 500 associates, and controlling up to $50k in operating expenses.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Supports the strategic objectives of Sears Automotive business by providing the training direction and curriculum support conducive of associate development in automotive technologies and service.
• Schedules sales and technical training seminars via the Online Performance Training.
• Ensures local associates are completing prerequisites prior to attending a seminar.
• Conducts seminars in accordance with curriculum, policies, and standards of Sears.
• Provides the Field and Store Support Leadership teams with post-course student skill evaluations.
• Works with the Field Leadership team in assessing the training needs of assigned markets.
• Interacts with leadership team in measuring the short- and long-term effects of training.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
This individual is accountable for achieving significant improvements in associate performance by using analysis, persuasive communication, and motivation rather than formal direct supervision. The District Auto Center Manager is also accountable for coaching, directing and motivating associates to meet/exceed customer expectations through speed and expertise, and partners with the District Manager in resolving escalated problems/issues.
