A client of ours, a top-tier firm is looking for an Application Analyst to be based in New York, NY.

The responsibilities of the Application Analyst will include:

• 
  

  Providing application, system support, and environment administration for complex trading systems

  
  


• 
  

  Trouble-shooting and diagnosing systems problems and trading issues as well as installing and configuring fixes for applications running on Linux and Windows platforms

  
  


• 
  

  Analyzing cause of production problems and developing methods for improvement

  
  


• 
  

  Creating and executing test plans/scripts/cases based on technical and business requirements for trading applications and market operations support tools

  
  


• 
  

  Performing unit, acceptance, performance, capacity, regression, and system fail over testing on back-end components using manual and automated test procedures

  
  


• 
  

  Submitting and managing issues and defects identified during testing or in production using internal tracking applications

  
  


• 
  

  Documenting specific procedures for implementation, error checking, and fallback

  
  


• 
  

  Managing software and configuration changes on Test and Production environments

  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline

  Experience scripting and coding in Python

  Proficiency with Windows and Linux Platforms

  Familiarity with programming languages such as Perl, VB Script, or Unix Shells

  
  


• 
  

  Knowledge of SQL and database concepts

  Experience in supporting large-scale, complex trading systems

  
  


• 
  

  Understanding of trade flows with a basic knowledge of back office and finance operations

  
  


• 
  

  Strong analytical and problem solving skills
