A client of ours, a top-tier financial firm, is looking for an Application Support to be based in New York, NY.

The responsibilities of the Application Support will include:

  Performing risk assessment prior to implementation and documenting specific procedures for implementation, error checking, and fallback

  
  


• 
  

  Scheduling, managing, and deploying software and configuration changes on Test and Production environments

  
  


• 
  

  Performing implementation and integration of application software and hardware configuration changes

  
  


• 
  

  Creating and executing test plans/scripts/cases based on technical and business requirements for trading applications and market operations support tools

  
  


• 
  

  Providing application and system support for several internal departments

  
  


• 
  

  Tracking and managing defects discovered during testing and application support and troubleshooting said issues

  
  


• 
  

  Installing and configuring fixes for applications running on Unix/Linux, OpenVMS (Open Virtual Memory System), and Windows platforms

  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline

• 
  

  General understanding of capacity and performance management

  Proficiency with HTML, PHP, MySQL, Windows OS, Linux OS, Python, Perl, and Shell Scripting

  Excellent technical, analytical, problem solving, and communication skills
