A client of ours, a top-tier healthcare firm, is looking for a Senior Oracle Database Administrator to be based in Carlstadt, NJ.

The responsibilities of the Senior Oracle Database Administrator will include:

  Collaborating with development teams to review new database changes or designs

  
  


• 
  

  Proposing and developing strategic database improvements in technical areas of database implementation, automated monitoring, support, and enhancement

  
  


• 
  

  Leveraging OS Level scripts to automate routine maintenance

  
  


• 
  

  Participating in periodic backup audits to maintain sound backup and error recovery procedures

  
  


• 
  

  Assessing and identifying database server resource requirements and communicating needs to management

  
  


• 
  

  Reviewing performance statistics and recommending changes for tuning database, server, and storage configurations, as well as application of SQL, PL/SQL, and related

  
  


• 
  

  Performing root cause analysis and initiating problem resolution

  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline

  Minimum of 10 years experience in a development or support organization supporting large applications with Oracle on Unix platforms preferred

  
  


• 
  

  Operational experience with Oracle RAC/ASM and Oracle DataGuard architecture on Oracle 11g

  
  


• 
  

  In-depth knowledge of data center infrastructure, Oracle RMAN, Oracle Exadata Platform, Oracle Real Application Clusters, Oracle Goldengate, and Oracle 121g RDBMS

  
  


• 
  

  Understanding of Virtualization, Storage, and Content Deliver Networks

  
  


• 
  

  Proficiency with Network Management, Tools, and Protocols

  
  


• 
  

  Experience with Linux and/or Unix

  
  


• 
  

  Excellent technical, analytical, problem resolution, and both written and verbal communication skills
