A client of ours, a top-tier firm, is looking for a Senior Database Administrator to be based in New York, NY.

The responsibilities of the Senior Database Administrator will include:

• 
  

  Providing support of production and development environments for our client's automated time keeping system

  
  


• 
  

  Providing operational DBA (Database Administrator) support activities for the client's application

  
  


• 
  

  Monitoring and supporting production and test environments

  
  


• 
  

  Supporting code migrations, DDL (Data Definition Language) changes, data changes, and database performance

  
  


• 
  

  Tuning, refreshing data of test environments

  
  


• 
  

  Running Critical Patch Updates, version upgrades, back-up, and recovery

  
  


• 
  

  Installing Oracle software

  Master's degree in Computer Science or related discipline and 3 years of experience in computer application programming, systems programming, computer systems development, data telecommunications, database administration, planning data/information processing, or related area with at least 18 months of this experience in a managerial capacity; Bachelor's degree in computer sciences or a related field preferred and 4 years of experience as listed above; OR high school diploma with 6 years of experience as listed above

  Minimum of 10 years of Oracle database administration on a Unix Sun/Solaris environment

  
  


• 
  

  Experience with Oracle Streaming and Replication, Oracle RAC implementations

  
  


• 
  

  Skill with Structured Query Language (SQL) coding, tuning and trouble-shooting

  
  


• 
  

  Familiarity with Oracle II G, Oracle RAC, Oracle Grid, RMAN, Unix Shell scripting, database tuning, and configuration

  
  


• 
  

  Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
