A client of ours, a top-tier firm, is looking for a SQL Database Administrator to be based in Rosemead, CA.

The responsibilities of the SQL Database Administrator will include:

• 
  

  Implementing and administering Microsoft native High Availability/Replication technologies as well as those of third parties in Disaster Recovery and Scale-out scenarios

  
  


• 
  

  Creating, administering, and fine tuning database backup, restore, and archive strategies and processes

  
  


• 
  

  Performing database performance tuning and optimization and applying server and database wide settings

  
  


• 
  

  Ensuring data security and availability

  
  


• 
  

  Monitoring database capacity and physical/logical modeling for every phase of major .Net application development

  
  


• 
  

  Designing and implementing indexing strategies, reviewing and refining indexing strategies, and planning and applying index defragging and statistic update policies

  
  


• 
  

  Automating routine processes in SQL job agent

  
  


• 
  

  Following and implementing SQL Server security best practices

  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline

  
  


• 
  

  Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator with at least 3 years as a SQL Server production DBA

  
  


• 
  

  Familiarity with Transactional, Log-shipping, and Mirroring replication

  
  


• 
  

  Experience supporting VLDB in production environment

  
  


• 
  

  Understanding of the migration of SQL 2005 to 2008 along with the installation of SQL 2005/2008 DMVs

  
  


• 
  

  Ability to use scripting language, including PowerShell, VB, Java, and DOS batch command

  
  


• 
  

  Knowledge of Windows Active Directory and Group Policies

  
  


• 
  

  Strong technical and both verbal and written communication skills
