A client of ours, a top-tier firm, is looking for a Telecommunications Specialist to be based in New York, NY.

The responsibilities of the Telecommunications Specialist will include:

• 
  

  Maintaining and enhancing the Telephone System and Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system used by the agency

  
  


• 
  

  Ensuring that our IVR (Interactive Voice Response), CTI (Computer Telephony Integration), phone switch, and wallboard are working at all times

  
  


• 
  

  Diagnosing equipment malfunctions and repairing voice and data equipment

  
  


• 
  

  Installing, moving, and modifying telecommunications and related equipment according to job order specifications, standards, and procedures

  
  


• 
  

  Troubleshooting calls that come through the Help Desk

  
  


• 
  

  Conducting research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of telecommunications development efforts and upgrades

  Minimum of 2 years practice administrating a phone switch, Alcatel switch experience preferred

  
  


• 
  

  At least 1 year experience with interactive voice processing systems and the Genesys IVR platform

  
  


• 
  

  Minimum 1 year working with a call center using an ACR system with skill based routing

  
  


• 
  

  Understanding of the basic operations of computerized telecommunications

  
  


• 
  

  Familiarity with installation, administration, and feature use of voice mail systems

  
  


• 
  

  Knowledge in phone installation wiring and T1/T3 concepts

  
  


• 
  

  Excellent problem solving, interpersonal, and communication skills
