The SImonton Cancer Counseling Center is a 501(c)3 charitable trust committed to improving the outcome for cancer patients using the field of psychoneuroimmunology. This field examines the how our thoughts, beliefs, emotional and psychological states impact our physiology and immune function.
We are the original cancer counseling program in the US and abroad, having 40 years of experience and the only program to founded by an oncologist and approved by the Surgeon General. We have SCC centers in the U.S., Japan, Germany, South Africa , Italy and the Netherlands.
We offer workshops, retreats, educational materials, counseling and other self help tools for improving one's health and life. We are not a support group.
This is an opportunity for someone who feels drawn to be of service for others.
This person would involve themselves in various aspects of SCC work, depending on interest and experience. Current primary role would be in social media; assisting with our facebook, twitter, newsletters and blog sites, as well as outreach to the community. Marketing skills and/or interest in marketing is a plus.
This is a great position for someone with a flexible schedule and good time management skills. Most of your work will be done at home/telecommuting with direction and input from the Executive Director. We are passionate about our work and we would hope you would feel the same about your position.
We ask that you plan for 14-20 hours of work a month.
This is an unpaid intern position.
The Simonton Cancer Center schedules retreats and workshops for health care professionals and patients and if this position works well for all concerned, could led to other work avenues and opportunities. We respect your talents and work to create an enjoyable experience for all those associated with us.
