SOAR Youth Programs is an intensive 9-month family advocacy, mentoring and tutoring program for Rantoul junior high students who have been retained, struggling academically and/or been absent 20% of the previous or current school year. The program aims to not only provide academic tutoring, but to also guide students to become responsible and self-disciplined individuals through mentoring. The program also promotes family advocacy by requiring family involvement. Finally, the program aims to teach students and their parents how to use the community around them to help students achieve excellence.
