A medical facility is seeking to hire a Geriatrician. An internist or family medicine physician with interest/skills in geriatric medicine will be considered. You may practice with a valid US state license from ANY of the 50 United States or US territories.
Contract services are needed five days a week, M ? F 8 ? 4:30, no call no weekends. The home based primary care (HBPC) physician will collaborate with NP's, RN, and fellows and residents in performing patient evaluations in the HBPC office and at patient's homes. The physician will participate in care planning meetings which are held twice a week for a total of 6 hours. The physician may perform home visits up to 2-3 times per week for 2-4 hours. Patient care will be required for new and established veteran referrals. Such care includes examination, general history, evaluation, prescribing medications from the VA formulary, diagnosis, treatment, etc. This is a one year assignment.
