Senior Software Engineer

Location: Middleton, Wisconsin

The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for the development of media software applications. This position requires technical expertise, management skills, and the ability to work closely with other team members in multiple engineering offices.

Key Responsibilities:

Help set the technical direction and initiatives for digital media management applications and services across PC and mobile devices
*
Research, evaluate, recommend and evangelize new technologies for development, or licensing.
*
Work closely with project managers and product managers in scoping feature sets and evaluating technical feasibility
*
Will provide leadership, review, and may manage direct reports
*
Play an integral technical role in the planning and execution of state-of the art software applications.
*
Collaborate on the design, coding and maintenance of intuitive user interfaces
*
Work with other team members and to create maintain a consistent look, feel, and workflow between companion Sony software applications and services
*
Complete assigned development activities in a professional and high quality manner

Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
*
Degree in computer science preferred
*
5 plus years of developing commercial software applications
*
Fluency in C , Java, or C#

Skills/Assets:

*
Experience with C/C , Java, C#, JavaScript, Python, Win32, Android
*
Experience in interface design and implementation
*
Project estimating, architecture and design documentations skills
*
Must be able to work effectively on multiple tasks with multiple deadlines
*
An innovative individual, a creative thinker with strong problem solving and analytical skills
*
Strong written and verbal communication skills
*
5 plus years experience managing developers
*
Experience working with Japanese engineers is a plus
