Following hospitalizations for complications from premature birth, illness and injury, or when special services are needed, children and their families come to St. Mary's to receive exceptional care, learn to manage their condition, and achieve a better quality of life.

Physical Therapists- Per Diem- Staten Island area

Physical Therapist will provide home based services for treatment of patients to relieve pain, develop and restore function, and maintain maximum performance using appropriate physical therapy treatments, modalities and procedures as stated in the physical therapy plan of care. Evaluates, and regularly re-evaluates, the rehabilitation needs of the patient; initiates, develops, implements and makes necessary revisions of the patient's plan of care. In addition, the Therapist will assist with the coordination of the total plan of care and maintains continuity of patient care by liaising with other health professionals assigned to the same patients.

RequirementsSuccessful completion of a physical therapy program at a school of physical therapy approved by the American Physical Therapy Association or the Council on Medical Education and Hospitals of the American Medical Association, or both.
Licensed in the state as a physical therapist. If licenses are registered prior to 1966, meets the alternative qualifications cited in the Medicare Conditions of Participation, Section 405.12 (1) (2) (3)
Minimum of one year of experience in pediatric physical therapy and/or pediatric affiliation.
Must be have reliable transportation to conduct home based services.
Must have Early Intervention experience.
