Title – Product Manager

Position Description –

Responsible for achieving the marketing objectives for designated products/programs. Marketing
objectives may relate to lifecycle management or new product development from concept phase to
market introduction. Is a member of all project teams with relation to product/program development or lifecycle management. Maintains liaison with field sales, dealers, customers and plant operations staff. Provides leadership and coaching to other specialists and interns. Product Manager will manage and coordinate marketing activities for a specific product line or marketing program to maximize market share, sales and profitability.
Responsibilities
Strategy development: Assists in creating marketing strategies and plans for the commercialization and/or lifecycle management of assigned product(s)/program(s). By analyzing data and marketing input providing relevant input to business decision making process on assigned product(s)/programs(s).

Product Management Marketing: Formulates plans with regard to product/program improvement, modification and culling for assigned product(s)/program(s). This includes product features, pricing, promotion and training. Analyzes customer needs, competitive information and sales trends to assist in decision making regarding product features and functions. Represents and makes marketing decisions when working closely with other disciplines (engineering, manufacturing, sales, training, marketing services, marketing communications, product development, and industrial design) in new product development and lifecycle management. Investigates market opportunities for new products or programs.

Field Support: Participates in and/or makes presentations to visiting groups for designated product(s)/program(s). Maintains close liaison with field sales, dealers and customers as part of continuing marketing support and analysis program. Trains sales staff on product features and benefits.
Requirements
Skills and Abilities –
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Solid presentation skills with varied audiences
- Thorough understanding of Steelcase processes, including marketing, sales, promotion, advertising

Education and Experience –

• Undergraduate degree required, preferably in Marketing or Business
• Graduate degree (MBA) preferred or equivalent working experience
• Two to four years marketing experience
