The primary role of the Staff RN is to perform the delivery of care for ICU/SCU patients during a specified period of time so that the physical, psychosocial, safety, rehabilitative and learning needs of patients and their families are addressed. This function is performed in association with nursing peers and co-workers, attending physicians and allied support services. The Staff RN competently uses the nursing process, medical therapeutics, and technological and personal interventions to accomplish this. Actively participates in hospital quality assurance/improvement, risk management, clinical operations and customer service excellence.
