POSITION SUMMARY

 

The Clinical Audiologist evaluates and conducts medically prescribed audiology services. Clinically supervises aides, assistants, students and clinical fellowship year staff.


 


Principal Accountabilities


Assures efficient management of work processes, by completing tasks and assignments by time standards.


Clinically supervises aides, assistants, students and clinical fellowship year staff.


Completes post-intervention activities: session closure, documentation, communication, charge capture.


Dispenses hearing aids considering age, hearing loss, activities of daily living environment, and caregiver support.


Prepares for therapeutic intervention.


Provides audiology diagnostic/assessment and interventions applicable to care setting.


Provides initial assessment evaluation of patient's abilities and designs appropriate intervention plans.



MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS

 

Education including Licensure/ Certification/ Registration

Completion of ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC). Current state licensure as an Audiologist, Hearing Aid Dispensing license if applicable. Will consider clinical fellowship year applicant. BLS provider.

Graduate of an accredited audiology program: master's or doctorate degree in audiology.

 

Experience:

A minimum of intermediate skills in sign language. Previous experience with 2-channel audiometer, immittance aduiometer, probe microphone, and evoked potential unit.

 

Skills

Requires critical thinking, complex problem solving, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a demanding environment, balance multiple priorities and take appropriate actions. Computer proficiency in word processing/typing, basic application and hardware functions required for applicable care setting.
