DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY:
The Administrative Supervisor directs the operations and supervises personnel in the various departments in the facility during after hours and on weekends and holidays. The incumbent acts as the senior administrative representative during these times, exercising functional authority over all hospital activities, serving as a resource for decision making in regards to patient care, and ensuring that hospital policies and procedures are properly interpreted and applied. Provides support, guidance, and decision making to major functions within the hospital: Laboratory, Diagnostic Imaging, Pharmacy, Central Distribution, Social Services, Discharge Planning, Transportation, Security, Plant Operations, Dietary, etc. MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Education: Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing. Current California license for Registered Nurse. Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred. Must have a current American Heart Association BLS-HCPC recognition or Greather Sacramento Region - Healthcare CPR. ACLS required. Experience: Minimum of four years of clinical experience as an RN in an acute care facility. Minimum of two years in nursing management, either as an assistant nurse manager or nurse manager, charge nurse or relief charge nurse. Demonstrated competencies in utilizing effective interpersonal communications, supervisorial, organizational, and priority setting skills. Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and support implementation of a patient focused program in a healthcare setting. Demonstrated success with respect to physician relations, supervision, personnel management, and management in a complex environment. Strong written and oral communications skills. Knowledge: Well versed in the administrative and clinical areas supervised with special emphasis on hospital and nursing standards of patient care. Well versed in hospital and medical staff organization and structure; fluent in medical terminology to include diagnostic and operative procedures. Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements, including Joint Commission. Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), Department of Heal Services (DHS), and Title 22 specifications. Knowledge of policies and procedures required to access Pharmacy and disperse drugs during hours of operation when the Pharmacy is closed. Knowledge of drug/dose/route to provide safe administration of medications removed from Pharmacy when Pharmacists are unavailable. Knowledge of medical records filing system, including legal requirements with respect to HIPAA and PHI. Knowledge of Central Distribution. Special Skills/Equipment: Demonstrated competency in nursing management, hospital operations and human resources. Well developed interpersonal skills and communication skills, both writer and verbal are highly desirable. Conceptual, analytical, and problem solving skills in a complex environment. Leadership and team skills that enable working cooperatively. Flexibility with willingness to work flex hours and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
