DescriptionThrough high-quality strategic communications plans and activities, the Change Team Communications Coordinator supports a proactive, research-based approach to building awareness and understanding of continuous service improvements. This position develops communications materials designed for formal and informal communications channels that support department-level organizational development and effectiveness.
This is a limited-term, benefitted position.
Education: Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism or marketing or equivalent years relevant experience is required.
Experience/Knowledge/Skills: Substantial (3 - 5 years) professional experience reporting, writing and editing or producing audio/video media in corporate, journalism or agency setting is required. Experience overseeing work of freelance professionals (writers, producers, graphic designers, Web designers) is required. Experience in the health care and public policy fields is preferred.
Knowledge of communications planning and tactical implementation, Internet/Intranet communications, graphic standards/corporate identity management, graphic design principles, news/feature/speech/script writing and editing techniques, publications development/production/management, audience list maintenance, and special events coordination required. Current knowledge of regional, state and national health care issues, Northern California current events, and cultural and health care trends is preferred. Ability to interpret system goals and translate them into a communications/constituent relations/communications plan required. Strong judgment and decision-making skills essential. Knowledge of organized labor strategy desired. Curiosity for/interest in emerging electronic/interactive communications methods desired.
Excellent analytical and project management skills required. Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills necessary. Ability to work with staff at all levels of the organization required. Organizational skills required, including demonstrated ability to maintain production schedules and strict adherence to multiple timelines and budgets.
