Description

The Sr. Director, Human Resources effectively plans, directs and manages the human resources function, including strategy, and employee relations for approximately 1300 FTEs at multiple site and interstate locations.  Key areas of focus include organizational design and relationship management, change management, talent acquisition management, leadership development, compensation, benefits and wellness, and ensuring our Great Place to Work culture.  This position is responsible for the development, integration, and consistent application of sound human resources policies, programs and procedures designed to support the organization’s strategic business plan at both the California and Utah locations.  The incumbent serves on the Senior Leadership Team. 



A.    Education
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Industrial Relations or the equivalent of education and experience is required
  • Master’s degree preparation or achievement is highly desired
  • SPHR is preferred 
B.    Experience
  • Ten (10) years of progressive related work experience in managing HR function for employer with multi-site locations, with at least three (3) years of prior managerial level work experience
  • Process improvement background; Lean Sigma initiative background desired 
C.    Knowledge/Skills:
  • Knowledgeable in State, Federal, and legal regulations & requirements related to human resources including ERISA, EEOC, ADA, FMLA, CRFA, Worker’s Compensation, COBRA, Wage & Hour, etc.  
  • Technically qualified and knowledgeable in all facets of HR including talent management, safety, compensation & benefits, employee relations, etc.
  • Demonstrates a strong relationship development skill set
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills, negotiation, persuasion and presentation skills
  • Ability to professionally plan, direct and manage all facets of the human resources function including labor relations for more than 1000 employees at multiple site locations
  • Demonstrated skills in diplomacy and discretion with excellent human relations ability to provide counsel, information and advice to others
  • Ability to build effective business relationships
  • Demonstrated history of leadership, project management capabilities, team building and time management skills
