Senior Payroll Technician-SSS-FIN Job Listing at SutterHealth in Roseville, CA (Job ID SSS-1314579)
Works with Payroll Technicians to collect, audit, and report accurate timecard data. Applies complex Sutter Health contracts and policies in review of timecards and acts as expert resource for team members. Prepares payroll for processing, including receiving and applying garnishments, leave of absence, and liens. Notifies team of bi-weekly payroll cut-off, audits payroll data, coordinates corrections, and turns over payroll for processing to Coordinators. Performs Tier 3 Customer Service duties.
As a team member in Sutter Shared Services, establishes and maintains strong, collaborative relationships with all external customers to identify additional ways to be of service and ensure customer satisfaction.
Supports the success of a high-performing shared services organization by helping to champion and drive the long-term Sutter Shared Services vision. Helps foster an environment in which continuous improvement in business processes and services is welcomed and recognized. Participates in programs and in using tools in support of building a high performance culture via the standard Sutter Shared Services responsibilities (e.g. performance measurement, people development, customer relationship management, etc.).
AA/AS degree in finance, business administration, human resources or related field is desired or work experience
Experience in Payroll and Travel and Expense as typically acquired in 3 or more years, preferably in a service delivery environment
Experience in the healthcare industry preferred Experience in shared services/internal service delivery role preferred
Experience working with Payroll Time and Attendance and/or Travel and Expense tools (eg. Lawson, Kronos) Experience with Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Knowledge of finance, accounts payable, and/or accounting
Knowledge of financial analysis and reporting methodologies
Knowledge of computerized payroll processing, State and Federal payroll related laws, and Wage and Hour laws required
Knowledge of Sutter Health Finance policies, practices and procedures a plus
Familiarity with performance metrics and ability to meet identified targets a plus
Knowledge of Human Resources benefits and compensation processes is beneficial
General understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and shared services enabling technologies (e.g. contact center technologies) is beneficial
Education: High school diploma required. Associate's degree or equivalent desired.
