Responsible for month end closing, reconciliations, financial reporting, working capital, forecasts, budgets and various managerial reports. This position will also directly manage the Accounts Payable Coordinator, the Accounts Receivable Coordinator, and the Staff Accounting positions.
This job is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
Make general ledger journal entries as assigned.
Design internal accounting reports and maintain reporting integrity.
Map internal accounting records to Hyperion software in accordance with Marmon Standard Practice Instructions. Reconcile Hyperion reports to internal reports and resolve differences. Upload internal accounting ledger into Hyperion Database. Complete all Hyperion supporting schedules with the exception of tax and asset schedules.
Manage reporting of month end Balance Sheets, Income Statements, and Marmon corporate reports for Professional Products. Provide analysis that reporting is complete and accurate.
Review and monitor with HR the worker compensation reserve for the Woodbury, MN plant
Maintain and support balance sheet reconciliations as assigned by the controller
Interface with sales and operations to assist in preparing forecast and budget regarding sales channels revenue and contribution margin and department expenses review.
Prepare sales detail for each sales channel which includes but is not limited to Channel Sales & Margin reports, Segmentation P&L, and Rebate and Advertising Subsidy detail reports.
Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis for top management when requested. Some examples could include: explaining changes in sales mix between products, researching variances in current cost to standard costs, researching changes in inventory levels or valuation , and calculating cash payback on AFE proposals.
Serve as a resource in the accounting area to support the work of the accounting group. Make certain that any issues those employees have with subsidiary schedules, reconciliations, reporting or other tasks are resolved promptly.
Manage the Rental accounting processes and procedures.
Review credit memo requests for accuracy and ledger amounts.
Create Dealer proceeds summary report for payments or credit memos on account.
Manage p-card program including adding new employees, canceling cards, setting spending limits and setting category codes.
Record journal entries for and reconcile all payroll and benefits accounts including but not limited to Accrued Payroll, Accrued Pension and Profit Sharing, Accrued Deferred Compensation, Accrued Workers Compensation Accrued Vacation, Accrued Severance.
Maintain and update accounting department standard journal entries.
Manage invoicing to related companies for payroll related charges.
Maintains insurance certificates, communicates with insurance companies and EcoWater legal so that certificates of insurance contain proper language for additional insured.
Bachelor of Science – Accounting degree from an accredited college or university with minimum of five years of experience in an accounting environment, preferably in manufacturing. CPA certificate is preferable.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.
Ability to apply basic concepts of algebra, fractions and ratios to practical situations.
Demonstrates advanced financial acumen and has the ability to understand and compile business
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in Microsoft Word, advanced in Microsoft Excel.
Must have solid ERP system knowledge. Ability to learn, navigate, and manage multiple ancillary accounting programs.
Must be well organized, have attention to detail, and the ability to complete projects in a timely and accurate manner.
