Tenants and Workers United, a non-profit community organization, has been active in the Arlandria / Chirilagua neighborhood of Alexandria, Virginia for over 24 years. Our mission is to win social and economic justice for low-income people of color in Northern Virginia through community organizing, leadership development, and civic engagement. Examples of our current work include organizing for educational justice in Alexandria Schools; advocating to improve access to healthcare for the low-income, uninsured; and supporting immigrants in their fight for comprehensive immigration reform.

In addition to the above work, TWUs Community Social Service Program provides a variety of services to the local low-income, immigrant community. We are seeking interns to support this aspect of our work.
