Stamping Buyer with primarily focused on NA business, this position is responsible for supporting the development and execution of global commodity strategies designed to leverage Tenneco worldwide purchase of carbon stamping products required in support of the original equipment and aftermarket businesses. Manages regional interface of commodity strategies and represents the purchasing manager in various business unit meetings. This position will manage NA initiatives by partnering with supply chain applications associates, engineering managers, and product development and operations teams. •Assists in the implementation of the commodity strategies in cooperation with the extended enterprise team. •Supports transition from regional, SBU focused organization to global commodity organization. •Identifies opportunities for global leverage. •Maintain and provides data to track and report team contribution to company results. •Continuously searches for global market opportunities and potential new suppliers •Support plants in major supply issues within commodity. •Develop recommendations for long term contract and commodity strategies •Monitors supplier performance. •Resourcing to facilitate margin improvement. •Drive down or eliminate minimum lot sizes to meet inventory targets. •Drive cost savings initiatives. Required Skills •Demonstrated cross-functional experience/skills in purchasing, contract negotiations, material, management, distribution, inventory control and process management. •Excellent communication skills across various organizational levels are required. •Solid PC skills required; including Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Powerpoint) and Microsoft Projects. •Demonstrated ability to champion change and implement strategies to meet goals. •Strong team player with demonstrated ability to work effectively on cross-functional teams. •Ability to travel internationally, as required. •Familiar with a range of material and processes; .e.g., steel, stamping, machining. •Strong MRP Purchasing systems skills/experience, customer knowledge and retail experience a plus. •Understanding of OE and Aftermarket business methodology with the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with limited to no supervision.
