This position will report to the Engineering Manager and have the following responsibilities:
Supervise employees in maintenance, electrician, and tool die groups performing daily tasks such as issuing work orders, tracking time and attendance, scheduling vacation etc. Also includes hiring, performance management and discipline/discharge. Conducts employee performance reviews based upon job descriptions to determine competency, knowledge and contribution of the Maintenance Operative.
Oversees the quality and craftmanship of repair work, installations and upgrades.
Ensures that the Maintenance Group are adequately trained, equipped and motivated so that the maintenance program can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost effective manner.
Be responsible for the preventative maintenance system (PM's), tracking PM completions in BOS format, issuing PM work orders and closing completed work orders in PM database. Will also work with engineering to develop PM's for new equipment and update existing PM's as needed. Initiates, implements and manages the plant PM system based on industry best practices with an emphasis on planning/schedulinig preventive and predictive maintenance.
Will report regularly on Key Process Indicators, including:
Will be responsible for coordinating any outside contract services needed for maintenance/downtime issues to air compressors, steam generators, cooling water systems, fire sprinkler system, fork lifts and general facility related maintenance issues. Will ensure that contractor services adhere to Tenneco safety policies (ie. proper PPE) and have the proper insurance coverage per Tenneco policy.
Individual will work with engineering to support projects such as equipment moves, new equipment installation and product launches.
Supervisor will develop training program for individuals in electrical, tool die, and maintenance groups to continuously improve effectiveness of the all three groups.
Implement and participate in plant wide safety and 5S initiatives.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Computer skills in microsoft word, excel, and power point. Experience with maintenance scheduling database systems such as SAP PM module is required
Good mechanical background to include knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, metal working, welding, air compressors, steam generators, and pumps with some hands on work is a must.
Experience with managing Tool and Die Makers and large press tool inventory for manufacturing precision stamped parts in 600 strokes/min presses.
Maintains and repairs Toolshop equipment.
Works closely with the MRO crib to assure supplies of spare parts and maintenance materials.
