Manufacturing Engineer Job Listing at Tenneco in Harrisonburg, VA

This position directs, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering projects. Duties will include working with manufacturing personnel on a variety of continuous improvement, process improvement and cost savings projects.  This will include estimating tooling and production costs, process design and optimization, operator training, production trouble shooting, and sustaining changes as implemented.  Apply Lean and Six Sigma methodologies according to Tenneco Manufacturing System process requirements. Manage projects as assigned.

• Extensive experience in tool and manufacturing process development.
• Process/application knowledge of processes currently utilized in Manufacturing is required. (i.e. welding, stamping, tubing, assembly).
• Self-motivated with good written and verbal communication skills; ability to effectively prepare and deliver technical reports and presentations.
• Ability to lead and function in a team environment, while effectively communicating across various levels of the organization.
• Ability to travel in support of job function (plants, customers, suppliers etc.) on occasion.
• Computer skills required including Microsoft Office suite, CAD software.  SAP experience preferred.
• Demonstrated experience using Lean tools and Six Sigma tools required.

• Bachelors degree in engineering required
• Minimum three years manufacturing engineering experience.
• Six Sigma Blackbelt preferred.
