Accountability A: Assists in the direction of the Supply Chain processes as it pertains to the Department¿s mission.
¿ Contributes to the Department¿s Strategic Plan by developing and implementing new initiatives appropriate to the current business environment.
¿ Supports Director in logistics and systems planning to support multi-hospital/clinic format and operational excellence.
¿ Oversees supply and expense budgets and assigned staff.
Accountability B: Manages the inter- and intra-departmental Supply Chain.
¿ Ensures replenishment of supplies to official asset and expense locations throughout the Hospital, Hospital Based Clinics, and Hospital Support Areas.
¿ Responsible for operational performance of Central Distribution, Pavilion for Women Supply Chain, and OR Sterile Supply (Asset Locations).
¿ Responsible for the management maintenance and replenishment of Omnicell and OptiFlex managed supply cabinets and locations and Floor Stock (Official expense locations.)
Accountability C: Performs staff development function, and collaborates with and orients clinical managers.
¿ Provides leadership, training, and coaching to develop front line managers and staff.
¿ Holds team members accountable for executing assigned responsibilities and tasks and for compliance with schedules.
¿ Ensures staff is properly trained and able to perform essential tasks, as documented by training materials and employee files, as observed by the Director of Supply Chain Management.
Accountability D: Performs process reengineering and total quality management functions to improve Supply Chain function.
¿ Facilitates cross-functional teams to ascertain root causes of problems.
¿ Collaborates with stakeholders to ensure problems are resolved in a timely manner.
¿ Performs knowledge management functions, such as documenting and presenting system processes/procedures, policies, and best practices so that they are readily accessible on-line, as documented by TQM methodology and data flow diagrams and charts, as observed by the Director of Supply Chain Management.
Accountability E: Develops departmental policies and procedures as they relate to the supply chain, as observed by the Director of Supply Chain Management in reviewing policies and procedures.
¿Reviews existing policies at least annually.
Ensures that policies and procedures are updated and accurate, properly documented, and enforced.
Accountability F: Performs special projects at the Director's request, as observed by project reports submitted to Director of Supply Chain. PURPOSE:
To manage, lead, and assist in the direction of the Supply Chain functions to include: Hospital Central Distribution, Pavilion for Women Distribution, OR Sterile Supply, and Linen Distribution. To ensure the integration of the information systems, procedures, and personnel within supply chain. Collaborates with peers to ensure processes and policies for existing and future information systems are properly engineered, documented, implemented, and enforced. To continually improve the Supply Chain's dependability, quality, and efficiency in support of the clinical enterprise. To develop systems and to develop and implement best practices, as well as to capture corporate knowledge and expertise, and ensure employees are trained to follow these practices. To provide support in planning, direction, management, and coordination of supply chain related functions in support of the IDS' mission and vision. To provide assistance to the Director in meeting operational and fiscal objectives as they relate to inventory management, logistics services, and asset management.
Required for satisfactory performance in this job is knowledge of current Supply Chain/ Materials Management technology, practice and information systems, as well as logistics and Supply Chain management expertise. Knowledge of systems reengineering, procurement and purchasing. Expertise with PeopleSoft Materials Management and related queries is preferred. Experience in Hospital Supply Chain supply distribution and management preferred.

FORMAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
The formal education and experience required for completely satisfactory performance in this job is:
¿ A Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain/Materials Management or a related science.
¿ Minimum 7 years progressively responsible experience in logistics, Supply Chain Management, and Procurement and / or Hospital Materials Management.
The following is preferred:
¿ Healthcare setting experience preferred
¿ Project management and contracts experience
¿ Thorough knowledge of PeopleSoft
