Job Title: Dir Nursing - Critical Care Job ID: 124117 Medical Center, Houston, TX Location: Full/Part Time: Full-Time Regular/Temporary: Regular Shift and Salary Grade Shift: 8a-5p Salary Grade: 20 Position Summary Overview: Provide 24-hour accountability for the clinical, administrative and human resources activities within designated clinical services. Responsibilities: Ensure delivery of safe, high quality, age appropriate, cost-effective care and/or service within a family-centered care environment, as measured by variance analysis reports, revenue enhancement/expense reduction, patient satisfaction scores, patient complaints, regulatory compliance and new programs/initiatives. Mentor other leaders to enhance their performance and promote development of staff. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with medical leadership, direct reports and interdepartmental liaisons to ensure the achievement of identified goals. Ensure creation of a work climate fostering employee participation, satisfaction and organizational commitment. Develop and implement service/departmental-based priorities supporting the organization's strategic plan and continually improve performance. Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of: patient care delivery models; budgeting and variance analysis; word processing and spreadsheet software; quality improvement concepts; regulatory standards, rules and regulations (Joint Commission, TDH, etc.). The ability to: monitor and improve the quality of nursing care; oversee staff development; demonstrate group facilitation skills; operate a personal computer. Education, License and Experience: Current Texas RN license; Bachelor's degree in nursing; Master's degree in nursing or healthcare related field; certification in nursing subspeciality (critical care); a minimum five (5) years nursing experience, including three (3) years management/leadership experience. Certification in a Nursing subspecialty may be required.
