Job Title: Laboratory Technician-PART TIME-TCP FM1960 After hours clinic (Northwest area) Job ID: 126585 Northwest, Houston, TX Location: Full/Part Time: Part-Time Regular/Temporary: Regular Shift and Salary Grade Shift: Mon-Fri 5p-9p, Sat and Sun 8a-4 Salary Grade: 6 Position Summary Overview: Collect blood and urine specimens, perform technical laboratory tests and report results to provider. Responsibilities: Collect specimens; perform lab tests; report results. Perform and document scheduled quality control procedures; document out of control values; maintain and prepare reagents and perform required reagent checks, including the monitoring of expiration dates; communicate quality control issues; maintain CLIA licenses. Perform instrument calibrations and maintenance. Perform proficiency testing. Coordinate with outside lab. Knowledge and Skills: Fundamental knowledge office laboratory operations and knowledge of related OSHA, CLIA and Joint Commission guidelines and requirements, general office tasks, confidentiality and filing systems required. The ability to use laboratory equipment (microscope, centrifuge, hematology and analyzer) required. Must be proficient with specimen collections and familiar with office machines (computer, multiline telephone, copier and fax). Education, Licensure and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent and certification as a MLT by ASCP or AMT. -OR- BS degree and a minimum two (2) years experience working in a clinical laboratory.
