Regular Position Summary Overview:
To effectively lead the Interventional Radiology imaging section of Texas Children's Hospital/Pediatric Radiology department by ensuring that staff have sufficient resources, training, and leadership to provide the finest possible pediatric services in a cost-effective manner. To ensure linkage with the Hospital's resources and other resources of the Integrated Delivery System through promotion of positive inter-and intra-departmental communications and relationships. To ensure that patient care is provided in a manner developmentally appropriate for the ages of patients served (0-Adult). Responsible for supervising team leaders and associated staff for Interventional Radiology including the RadiologicTechnologists, Registered Nurses and Patient Care Assistants.

Knowledge Skills:
A diverse knowledge of Radiology procedures nursing procedures, computerized tomography, interventional radiology, magnetic resonance imaging, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, patient care equipment, computed radiology equipment, , automatic processors, copying/digitizing film, R.I.S., PACS related equipment and radiation safety regulations. Also required is a general knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications, budgeting concepts, quality improvement, staff development, and recruitment/retention methods. Also required is a diverse knowledge of patient care and assessment, advanced path physiology, performing fluoroscopic procedures (dynamic and static), image screening and evaluation , problem patient management , radiobiology, invasive vascular and non-vascular procedures, determining clinical pathways in medical imaging, patient education and advocacy, medical ethics and law and risk management. the ability to function in a staff role when needed, demonstrate good leadership skills, excellent customer service and positive guest relations, good verbal and written communication skills, strong analytical skills, and promote positive interdepartmental and intra departmental communications and relationships. Also requires the ability to maintain confidentiality, report budget variance, and utilize a personal computer for word processing, data management and spreadsheet development. Bilingual skills are preferred.

Education Licensure:
The formal education and experience required for completely satisfactory performance in this job is:
- A Bachelors degree in radiologic technology, management, nursing or healthcare administration.
- 2 years experience working in an IR environment

Must have one of the following:
- Registration as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT)
- Certification as an RPA by the CBRPA
- Licensure an RN by the Texas State Board of Nursing

The following is preferred:
- 3 years of management experience
