Regular Position Summary Overview:
Provide support and ensure smooth execution of daily pharmacy operations. Promote and identify strategies to provide safe, effective services.

Responsibilities:
Assist in the daily management of pharmacy areas. Address personnel, operational and scheduling issues and needs. Build commitment and promote quality services. Perform data collection to support regulatory requirements and for quality improvement measures. Conduct routine audits to ensure compliance. Report financial performance. Prepare and submit annual capital and operating budgets. Support implementation of projects and programs. Responsible for training and development activities for area personnel. Complete performance appraisals for direct reports. Develop and modify job descriptions. Conduct appropriate investigations and follow-up on individual and patient complaints. Ensure JCAHO requirements specific to the department is fulfilled but also understand the linkage between the department's requirements and those of the hospital. Collaborate with colleagues in other departments to ensure all JCAHO requirements are met.

Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of pediatric drug therapy, general management theory, general finance and basic MIS. Ability to operate a personal computer, operate equipment used in the preparation of sterile products (e.g. Automix and Micromix), work with hazardous substances (e.g. cytotoxic agents, hydrochloric acid and isopropyl alcohol) and work under pressure.

Education, Experience and Licensure:
B.S. in Pharmacy and a license to practice pharmacy in Texas or eligibility for licensure. Minimum of five (5) years of pharmacy experience required. An advanced degree in management and/or business is preferred. Department Marketing Statement The Center at Greenspoint, expected to open August 2013, is a patient and family-centered medical home developed as an innovative, comprehensive, and coordinated primary care practice exclusively for TCHP members (Children and Pregnant Women). Designed to improve access to high quality health care for the Medicaid and Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) populations.

The Center will have full service dentistry, optometry, pharmacy, imaging, as well as, adult and pediatric behavioral health services.

The Center will feature concierge level service optimizing the patient care experience, comprehensive coordinated care with full support services enveloping the care team (social workers, behavioral health, care coordinators, patient navigators, nutritionists, case managers, nurse triage, and intense appointment services), and Medicaid and CHIP re-certification and renewal assistance.

The Center will be open for pediatrics 16 hours per day Monday thru Friday and 10 hours per day on weekends and holidays, and will be open for OB visits 12 hours per day Monday thru Friday and 6 hours per day on Saturdays and holidays.
