Job Title: Mgr Nursing -Hem/Onc 7a-7p Job ID: 126429 Medical Center, Houston, TX Location: Full/Part Time: Full-Time Regular/Temporary: Regular Shift and Salary Grade Shift: 7a-7p Salary Grade: 15 Position Summary Overview: Manage daily clinical and personnel activities and participate and coordinate the delivery of high quality, family centered and developmentally appropriate patient care at the unit level. Responsibilities: Ensure the physiologic, psychosocial and developmental needs of the patient are met within a family-centered care environment. Ensure staffing needs of the department are met; support staff in the development of their schedules and monitor effectiveness of the process on staffing needs; participate in the decision-making processes for hiring new employees. Coach and develop unit-based staff to ensure the delivery of high quality patient care in a safe environment; assist in developing clinical nurses. Serve as a liaison between physicians, families, nursing staff and ancillary departments. Facilitate staff participation and contribute in the quality outcomes program or unit-based quality initiatives in order to develop and monitor clinical outcomes demonstrating nursing excellence. Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of word processing and quality improvement concepts with the ability to operate a personal computer and monitor the quality of nursing care required. Education, Licensure and Experience: BSN, Texas RN license and two (2) years nursing experience required.
