Job Title: MRI Manager - Imaging *Must have scanning experience be MRI Registered* Job ID: 124595 Medical Center, Houston, TX Location: Full/Part Time: Full-Time Regular/Temporary: Regular Position Summary Overview: Lead the imaging sections by ensuring staff have sufficient resources, training and leadership to provide the finest possible pediatric services in a cost-effective manner. Responsibilities: Manage the daily operations assigned sections (magnetic resonance imaging) by providing direction, leadership, resources and staff development. Monitor staffing requirements and productivity levels by reviewing units of service and staffing levels and realigning staff or requesting changes as necessary; maintain high levels of competent staffing by participating in the interviewing and orientation process; coach, counsel, train, motivate, evaluate and make recommendations regarding staff development plans. Ensure budgetary compliance; make purchase recommendations by participating in the evaluation of new products, equipment and software; participate in reviewing and creating policies, procedures and exam protocols; assure compliance with staff registration. Identify opportunities to improve quality of services for patients, families and physicians and ensure productive outcomes when change required. Help employees succeed in job specific duties and encourage continuous education by providing in-service and career development opportunities; coordinate and conduct staff meetings and facilitate meetings with the supervisors and chief radiologist; participate and represent the department/hospital at management forums, meetings and during special projects. Act as the primary liaison for student programs by coordinating educational opportunities and maintaining relationships with health care schools. Knowledge and Skills: Diverse knowledge of diagnostic imaging procedures and a general knowledge of nursing procedures, magnetic resonance imaging, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, patient care equipment, computed radiology equipment, automatic processors, copying/digitizing film, R.I.S., PACS related equipment and radiation safety regulations. General knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications, budgeting concepts, quality improvement, staff development and recruitment/retention methods also required. The ability to demonstrate good leadership skills, excellent customer service and positive guest relations, good verbal and written communication skills, strong analytical skills and promote positive interdepartmental and intra-departmental communications and relationships. The ability to maintain confidentiality, report budget variance and utilize a personal computer for word processing, data management and spreadsheet development required. Bilingual skills preferred. Education, Licensure and Experience: Completion of a formal two year training program in a JRCERT approved school of radiologic technology, Bachelor's in radiologic technology, management or healthcare administration, ARRT registry and CMRT and three (3) years management experience.
