Salary Grade: 5 Position Summary Overview:
Perform a variety of routine and specialized patient care activities.
Assist with the collection and documentation of patient/family data; obtain and document vital signs, physiologic values and body measurements. Ability to collaborate with multiple RNs and prioritize workload; provide basic hygienic care; provide general comfort measures and perform other miscellaneous ADL's; ensure effective time/resource management; collect and label specimens for lab analysis and perform bedside testing, including quality control; perform unit specific tasks; prepare patient room for admission with age appropriate supplies and equipment; perform clerical duties; transport medications. Provide input for development and ongoing modification of the plan of care; assist in identifying patient response to care provided and report condition.
Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of nursing care required. The ability to perform tasks for numerous patients, communicate effectively with the team, utilize monitoring equipment and basic patient care equipment, computer terminal and telecommunications equipment required.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a formal nursing assistant program (or similar program); or equivalent experience required.
