Regular Shift and Salary Grade Full-time/days, including every weekend. Position Summary Overview:
Provide assistance to the OTs, PTs and PTAs in providing occupational and physical therapy treatment programs for patients 0 - adulthood.

Responsibilities:
Provide set-up/clean-up of patient care area; review individualized patient physical/occupational therapy evaluation, plan of care and progress notes prior to implementing treatment; perform patient care and related activities; monitor patient response to treatment intervention, reporting patient status and response to therapy; assist in the fabrication of orthotic equipment and adaptive devices; assist in providing patient and family education. Stock linens; inventory and stock patient related supplies. Clean and disinfect hydrotherapy whirlpools; clean therapy mats; clean toys and other therapeutic equipment; place clean toys in their place and straighten up patient treatment areas; check patient refrigerator temperature; check temperature, chemical levels and pH of therapy pool; report incidents of temperature readings outside of approved range. Coordinate patient transportation schedule; notify nurse the patient is leaving the floor and escort patient and family to the therapy department as scheduled; upon completion of therapy treatment, escort back to patient's room, notifying nurse of patient's return.

Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge and understanding of acute care pediatric physical and occupational therapy developmentally appropriate for children ages 0 - adulthood. Successful demonstration of the basic clinical and non-clinical competencies, the ability to be articulate, courteous and supportive in dealing with hospital, administrative and departmental personnel, patients and parents with ability to honor confidentiality; to independently support and assist in patient care by following the direction of a therapist or therapy assistant; demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills; utilize basic office equipment such as fax, xerox and PC.

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent and basic familiarity with an acute care medical environment required.
