Perform routine and specialized procedures to aid in diagnosis, operate general and specialized equipment, select and modify position of patients and equipment, act as charge technologist in absence of team leader and assist radiologists.
Perform exams per routine list of procedures; position patients appropriately for various types of radiographic procedures and equipment; assist with the administration of opaque media solutions; select film size for each exam; use assigned lead markers on radiographs; assist in locating images and retrieve reports from previous exams; assist supervisor in evaluating and maintaining the computerized radiography technique chart and ensure exams are done within the appropriate PACS exposure level guidelines; ensure persons in the exam room are using the proper radiation protective devices during the radiologic procedure; check requisition to ensure appropriate exam charges. Assist with performing high quality, cost effective patient care in collaboration with supervisor, staff and hospital personnel. Perform team leader responsibilities and participate in new projects
Knowledge and Skills:
Diverse knowledge of radiologic procedures, a general knowledge of x-ray equipment to perform examinations; the ability to operate all required equipment including troubleshooting when necessary; operation of computed radiology equipment, automatic processor, copy/digitize film, R.I.S. and PACS related equipment. The ability to demonstrate excellent customer service and positive guest relations; promote positive interdepartmental and intradepartmental communications and relationships; maintain confidentiality; operate basic office equipment; demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills; and demonstrate (preferably) bilingual skills.
Education, Experience and Licensure:
Completion of a formal two year training program in a JRCERT approved school of radiologic technology. ARRT registry and CMRT required. Minimum three (3) years radiographer experience preferred.
