Salary Grade: 3 Position Summary Overview:
Provide patient support and perform general office tasks.

Responsibilities:
Perform reception duties; greet patients and visitors; assist patients with check-in; answer phone and take messages. Schedule appointments; verify next day appointments; accommodate walk-ins. Monitor patient information and other practice data; verify patient demographic information with each visit and enter into medical record and billing system; verify and document coverage of services; monitor "bad telephone number" report and submit corrections; monitor "patient type discrepancy" report and correct errors; monitor returned mail and flag medical record. Process patient payments. Provide operational support. Maintain integrity of medical records.

Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of general office tasks, confidentiality, filing and medical terminology required. Knowledge of related OSHA and Joint Commission guidelines and requirements also required. The ability to provide excellent customer service, act in a professional manner, type, file, use a multi-line telephone, computer, fax, copier and adding machine required.

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
