Job Title: Clinical Surgical Reviewer Job ID: 126759 Medical Center, Houston, TX Location: Full/Part Time: Full-Time Regular/Temporary: Regular Shift and Salary Grade Shift: 8-5 Salary Grade: 12 Position Summary Overview: To work as part of the Surgical Outcomes Center to lead and coordinate submission of reliable surgical data to the American College of Surgeon (ACS) through the National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (NSQIP) database, work closely with the Surgeon Champion and Department of Surgery to drive clinical quality improvement projects in the Department of Surgery Knowledge: Required for completely satisfactory performance in this job is: 1)Attention to detail, 2) Knowledge and principles of quality improvement, patient safety, 3) database management experience preferred, 4) Familiarity with MS Office products preferred (Word, Excel, PowerPoint Access). Skills: Required for completely satisfactory performance in this job is: 1) The ability to complete all pre¿training, on¿site training, and post¿training modules and pass the training post test 2) Strong computer skills 3) Ability to build relationships and gain alignment for clinical support, articulate questions to receive an appropriate level of support from superiors and peers 4) Interact with all members of the surgical team and administrative staff in a professional and courteous manner. Formal Education and Experience: The formal education and experience required for completely satisfactory performance in this job is: - Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Associate Degree in Nursing, or Diploma in Nursing - Registered and currently licensed by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas - 3 years of clinical experience in hospital surgery department, surgery clinic, or clinical research -OR- - Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Care or related field - Registry by the State of Texas as a Registered Respiratory Tech (RRT) - 3 years of clinical experience in hospital surgery department, surgery clinic, or clinical research The following is preferred: - Quality improvement, clinical chart review, abstraction database data entry and/or management experience About Texas Children's Texas Children's Hospital is an internationally recognized full-care pediatric hospital located in the Texas Medical Center in Houston.
