[Additional Description] Business Systems Analyst Reports to: Manager Enterprise Products Salary Band: IV POSITION PURPOSE: Reporting to the Enterprise Product Manager, the Business Systems Analyst (BSA) is an integral role responsible for supporting one or more key business functions through the successful implementation of technical solutions. This person will provide expert level business knowledge while performing detailed requirements gathering and definition, process analysis/improvement, IT system analysis and design, user acceptance facilitations, vendor system evaluations, strategic vision, and best practice recommendations. The position serves as a senior liaison between the business and IT groups. The BSA works on large, complex projects that have enterprise-wide impact and may require subject matter expertise of multiple areas and processes. This person can work simultaneously as a project team member on several projects to facilitate solutions involving multiple sites and/or business areas. The BSA also helps to coach and mentor the Business Analyst staff. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: · Consult with the business to develop recommendations that address difficult and complex business needs and opportunities, and analyze system solutions to fulfill those business requirements o Utilize structured interview techniques to identify, analyze and document business requirements and priorities o Document objectives, use cases, requirements and specifications, produce and maintain diagrams of business processes and system workflows o Create documentation describing solutions to achieve requirements according to established guidelines and standards o Evaluate the design of existing systems, identify obstacles or flaws and lead research to identify effective solutions o Assist the Project Manager with business owner relations o Act as a liaison between business users and technical teams · Facilitate the design of complex solutions · Participate in and support the full project life cycle (initiation, planning, requirements, analysis, design, development, testing, quality assurance, installation, and production support) · Work with the Project Manager to analyze, plan, communicate and coordinate assigned projects in areas such as feasibility, package review, time and cost estimation, work plan creation and management, business requirements, testing, documentation, training and implementation · Develop strategic partnerships with IT and business management · Develop an understanding of the business units’ goals and processes; understand cross-business processes and functions · Understand overall organization objectives and goals including cross-business unit impacts, organization policies and guidelines · Provide functional support for assigned applications and/or products · Assist in the development and execution of user acceptance test strategy and plans · Assist business units in re-engineering business processes from current-state to future-state resulting from major application implementations · Produce project documentation according to subscribed guidelines and standards · Address and escalate issues promptly and properly · Analyze trends and make recommendations to identify process improvement opportunities through the use of technology and changes in business needs, structure, and/or improvements · Conduct and coordinate reviews of completed analysis projects · Occasional travel may be required · Perform other duties as required REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education · B.S., B.A. in Marketing, Management, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or Computer Science, or equivalent job experience. Experience · Demonstrated success in the probing, collection and documentation of functional and technical requirements · Full software development life cycle experience required, preferably in multi-tier, database environment (Oracle or SQL) · Experience with large vendor software package implementation (ex: ERP) that have full organizational impact – business change; understanding integration with legacy applications; understanding conversion impacts · Business process engineering relative to implementing large technology solutions · Possesses extensive knowledge and experience in leveraging both IT solutions and business process improvements that impact cross-business units/ organizational changes · Demonstrated knowledge of project management life cycle and hands-on experience and proficiency using full project life-cycle methodologies and tools · Behavioral traits that exhibit team orientation, leadership, interpersonal communications, flexibility, positive attitude, adaptability, customer-supplier responsiveness, systemic thinking and appreciation for detailed work · Strong analytical skills, creativity and a working understanding of Information Systems · Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite products · Solid .NET development experience preferred · Experience in financial services operations with a strong, well-rounded automotive business background is preferred Skills · Ability to work across multiple organizations · Ability to effectively work with IT and Business community · Ability to work on several projects simultaneously · Ability to workwith large vendor software package implementation · Ability to communicate effectively with team members, peers, and senior management (IT and business community) · Ability to think in a creative and innovative manner to create appropriate and efficient solutions · Ability to lead a team in defining business needs and requirements, and collaborate with business partners in defining future innovations · Ability to Project Manage smaller projects · Excellent interpersonal communication skills (both written and verbal); ability to communicate and present to a wide variety of audiences, both business and technical · Above average technical skills to facilitate communication with the technical team members and data analysis · Solid prioritization and project management skills including schedule development, assessment, and management reporting · Ability to build relationships and partnerships, achieving results through influence, persuasion and the leveraging of these relationships · Positive customer service orientation and responsiveness · Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) preferred Apply on Company Website |
