Job Title: JAVA/J2EE DEVELOPER Job Type: Contract to Perm Company: JUDGE GROUP Location: Dallas TX Contact E-mail: jberger@judge.com Salary: contract to $60-70/hr, perm to $100K Description: Our client, a major Dallas-based financial services organization, is currently seeking candidates for several JAVA/J2EE DEVELOPER contract to hire positions. Our client seeks J2EE developers to enhance and support a distributed application that supports the core functions of several of their banking lines of business. Primary Responsibilities •Plans, designs, codes, tests, documents, implements, and supports new systems or enhancements to existing systems. •Adapts frameworks and best practices. •Executes performance and stress testing. •Develops solutions using defined user requirements. Works with the customer to clarify and further define requirements, as necessary. Minimum Qualifications (MQs) •Three years of proven application development experience that includes creating distributed applications through analysis of specific business requirements. •Two years of Java and J2EE programming experience. •One to three years of Spring development experience. •One to three years of Java Web UI development experience. •In-depth understanding and demonstrated use of object-oriented design principles. •In-depth understanding and demonstrated use of J2EE patterns and frameworks. •Experience with web model view controller (MVC) frameworks (i.e. Struts, Spring MVC, JSF, etc.). •One to three years of Object/Rational Mapping (ORM) experience (i.e. Hibernate, JPA, EclipseLink, etc.). •One to three years of experience with the Rational Application Developer (RAD) or Eclipse tool. •Experience with deploying applications to an Application server (i.e. Websphere, JBOSS, Weblogic). •One to three years of experience using relational database tools (MS-SQL Server, Oracle, etc.) and concepts. •One to three years of experience applying the Unified Modeling Language (UML) standard using a modeling or diagram tool (i.e. Rational Rose, Visio, etc.). •Practical experience with Software Configuration Management (SCM) tool (i.e. Clear Case, Subversion, etc.). •Experience with performance engineering. •Experience with developer testing practices (i.e. JUnit, Cactus, etc.) and understands the differences between unit, functional and system tests. •Experience with Unified Process (UP) or agile software development methodologies. •Experience with and is willing to initiate sharing knowledge with others •Ability to speak and write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles. •Ability to quickly learn and practically apply new concepts or principles which can be confirmed by experience. •Experience supporting a production application. •Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Preferred Qualifications •Experience with SCM tool Subversion a plus. •Experience with implementing and/or maintaining automated build and deployment process via scripting languages (i.e. ANT, Python, Jython, etc.) and tools (i.e. Maven, CruiseControl, etc.) a plus. •Experience with WebSphere MQ is a plus. •Experience with JSF is a plus. •Experience with Primefaces is a plus. •Experience with JPA is a plus. Education Bachelor's degree is preferred. Equivalent education and/or experience may be substituted.
