Job Title: PRODUCTION MANAGER Job Type: Permanent Company: JUDGE GROUP Location: North Carolina Contact E-mail: afryer@judge.com Salary: Negotiable Description: A large national food manufacturer is currently looking for a Production Supervisor to join its team. This position is responsible to effectively manage the operation of the assigned area for long periods in the absence of the plant superintendent and to gain experience in strategic management activities and business planning activities. The position responsibility is primarily in mid-term (12-18 month) horizon planning activities and/or high impact operational or project/process engineering management activities with little direction from the plant superintendent. This role is responsible for supervision, training, development, and performance management of department hourly and supervisory employees. Principal Accountabilities: 30% Manage project portfolio for the plant in cooperation with the plant superintendent and directly manage large base or non-base projects or major process engineering activities 25% Supervise exempt production supervisors and/or large number of non-exempt employees in a production environment. Lead talent discussion and participate in development of less experienced supervisors. Lead training in process improvements 20% Develop 1-6 month strategic and tactical action plans related to the operation activities of the plant or in process/project engineering activities 15% Coach and mentor other supervisors in troubleshooting, problem solving and optimization activities outside the assigned area or plant 10% Perform misc job-related duties as assigned Qualifications Required: Four year degree in engineering or 4-year degree in science related field with five years industrial processing experience and/or process/project engineering 5+ years experience in liquid processing or equivalent processing or project management experience Practiced knowledge of production management with ability to develop understanding of plant processes and operational needs Team player, respectful and able to work independently or reach out for assistance when necessary Ability to independently develop complex technical plans based on analysis of complex datasets used to identify trends and improvement activities Demonstrated strong decision making skills. Ability to prioritize activities to meet plant expectations and strategic objectives concurrently Ability to work through others with strong delegation skills and accountability for results. Ability to build employee engagement to improve plant results Ability to coach employees effectively for their development Preferred: Four year engineering degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering. Ability to develop and execute capital projects (annual amount of $500k-3MM) Demonstrated business acumen with functional knowledge of maintenance, accounting, merchandising/sales, and logistics.
