Job Title: QUALITY ASSURANCE MANAGER Job Type: Permanent Company: JUDGE GROUP Location: New Mexico Contact E-mail: KGORDON@JUDGE.COM Salary: Open Description: QUALITY ASSURANCE MANAGER NEW MEXICO OPPORTUNITY SALARY 70-80K PLUS BONUS Responsible for assuring that products manufactured at the Plant meet the quality standards established by relevant regulatory agencies, and customers. The QA Manager is responsible for the daily Quality Assurance and Compliance efforts at the plant and the Lab employees. Duties and Responsibilities: - Understand and manage Quality, Food Safety, and Food Security operations in the food manufacturing facility - Ensure that plant and plant personnel are operating in compliance with all ompany procedures, customer requirements, FDA and government regulations - Implement and manage QA&C food safety and HACCP programs. Develop plant-specific policies and procedures as needed and trainin employees - Implement and maintain Quality Systems to ensure plant products meet specifications - Manage "Hold and Release" programs for finished products and ingredients, coordinate COA review for compliance with specifications - Coordinate QA&C Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Documents System for issuing, distribution, compliance, and review of SOPs and SSOPs by appropriate departments - Participate on the HACCP committee and review related documentation daily - Participate on Quality and Operations Teams - Develop, organize, and administer training for plant employees on GMP, HACCP, and related food safety topics - Direct activities of the plant lab - Directly supervise lab technicians, schedule hourly shifts, provide training and performance feedback - Set up, calibrate, and troubleshoot lab equipment and arrange for repairs as needed - Develop, implement and maintain a systematic method of auditing analytical results (split sample testing program) - Conduct physical and organeoleptic evaluations of products and ingredients - Direct the testing and analysis of routine and special products, trials, etc. and provide effective reports to involved parties (management, vendors, customers, etc.) - Coordinate Environmental Pathogen Monitoring program - Coordinate/Conduct facility audits, accompany investigators, and ensure corrective actions and follow-up reports are tracked and completed. Includes physical inspection of equipment, buildings, and facility grounds for internal, regulatory, or customer audits - Conduct investigations into incidents, quality issues, and complaints. Document findings, perform trend analysis, and communicate to management, employees, and customers as appropriate - Review lab and production documents daily to assess the quality of products, determine that products meet customer specifications, and approve products for release to customers - Compile, review, and file finalized Process Deviation Reports - Coordinate shipping of samples - Convey company, facility, and department goals to employees. Track and report on plant quality Key Performance Indicators - Work with plant employees on Good Manufacturing, Sanitation Practices, and Safety. - Attend seminars to develop skills needed to improve job performance - Other tasks as assigned Requirements: - BS or BA in related field (Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, etc.) - 4 - 5 years related exp. in a plant environment (food-production lab, QC or compliance) - 2+ years of management exp., preferably in a plant environment - Use P&L results and Key Performance Indicators (KPI'S) to improve plant performance - Problem-solve using the combined talents of various individuals within the organization - Team building skills - Written and oral communication skills - Organizational and multi-tasking skills - Analyze data and generate effective reports - Understand food industry regulations and their impact on the organization - Attention to detail and effective follow-through - Interact in a positive way with personnel within and our customers - Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access - Willing and able to learn new skills as position develops Apply on Company Website |
