Our client is currently seeking a RESEARCH TECHNICIAN, POLYMER PROCESSING.

The Research Technician is responsible for planning and executing activities in various research and development projects in support of compounding, molding, and testing requests from Research Scientist.

Position Accountabilities:
-Executes complex experiments and testing of various polymer formulations requiring considerable judgment and initiative
-Understands implications of work and makes recommendations for solutions
-Performs complex or non-standard set-up and troubleshooting of Laboratory or Fabrication equipment
-Collects data, makes complex calculations, keeps neat/accurate records, correlates data, and can make basic interpretation of the data. Enters data into relevant systems and closes requests in a timely manner
-Normally receives little instruction on daily work, general instructions on newly introduced assignments
-Communicates results to supervisor, scientist/engineer or to external customers, both orally and in written report form, and communicates results orally within and outside of group
-Independently performs technical problem solving on specific equipment and processes
-Performs all work activities in a safe and timely manner. Participates in safety audits and safety meetings, presents at least one topic annually at a safety meeting; closes open audit action items in a timely manner
-Perform other duties as assigned
-High School Diploma or equivalent
-College degree in a scientific/technical field preferred
-Approximately 3+ years of polymer or other relevant technical experience, OR
-1+ years relevant experience with college degree in related field
-General plastics experience (esp. polymer processing) preferred
-Compounding, molding, and/or testing experience is a plus
-Strong mechanical aptitude (e.g. assembling/disassembling equipment)
-Demonstrated expertise in specific laboratory and/or fabrication operations; excellent mechanical aptitude
-Ability to perform complex experiments
-Ability to work/communicate with diverse teams/styles; excellent interpersonal skills
-Ability to work independently w/minimal supervision
-Excellent organizational skills
-Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
