Description:
Our client is currently seeking a SUPERMARKET EQUIPMENT BUYER. This is a successful, growing company offering an excellent compensation package, as well as relocation for the right candidate.

This job will have the following responsibilities:

* Documenting equipment and case requirements in support of the defined initiatives set forth, while performing research to identify equipment, cases, and vendors that successful meet the outlined vendor requirements
* Interact with vendors to gain a thorough understanding of the equipment and features identified and will prepare detailed matrixes outlining key vendor attributes in the comparison of competing equipment manufacturers for review with the appropriate Merchandising Vice President
* Work across various business units within The Fresh Market, such as Marketing, Operations, Maintenance, and Purchasing in order to outline test guidelines, schedule and prepare for the testing of specific pieces of equipment, provide the proper documentation for the results of equipment tests, in addition to preparing the summary analysis and recommendation in order to successfully track savings in costs and equipment improvements
* Understand all costs associated with an equipment purchase and prepare capital expenditure forms related to the purchase of equipment for testing and implementation. Candidate will also work with the various business units in preparation of installations and rollout schedules

Qualifications & Requirements:

* Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a related field of study is preferred
* Minimum of 3 years experience within equipment purchasing for the grocery industry
* Working knowledge of MS Project or similar project management software in addition to MS Office suite experience
* Understanding and expertise on health regulations, government guidelines, OSHA, and all safety guidelines is highly desirable
* Strong team player possessing excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication skills, and adaptable to a fast-paced, challenging environment
